Two other good comics from Pathé's are "Tommy Atkins Minds a Baby," and "I'll Dance the Cake Walk." The hero of the first is hardly a typical British soldier in appearance, but his adventures are very well done. He is left in charge of a baby on a seat in the park by his sweetheart, its nurse, and walks up and down with it trying to keep it in a good temper. He shortly spies an officer approaching him, and hastily places the baby in a wheelbarrow, while he stands to attention and salutes. While he is engaged in talk with his officer the park cleaner comes up and wheels off his barrow, without noticing its occupant. Several following scenes show him shovelling dirt on to the infant until it is quite covered, and at last it is thrown on the rubbish heap with the rest of the refuse he has collected. There it is discovered by a policeman. Meanwhile, Atkins has discovered his loss, and he takes another baby from its pram and makes his way back to the seat. Here, however, he meets the policeman with the lost infant, and the consequence is that he has two babies in his arms when his lady love comes back. The nurse whose baby he had appropriated also turns up and between the two ladies he is roughly used. (Kinematograph and Lantern Weekly, 15.8.1907)

Anmerkung: Henri Bousquet nennt als Aufführungstag (Donnerstag,) den 25. Juli 1907. Seit der Eröffnung des Omnia Pathé im Dezember 1906 fand der Programmwechsel aber stets am Freitag statt. [Note: The release date given by Henri Bousquet seems questionable, for July 25th 1907 is a Thursday. Since its opening in late 1906 the Omnia Pathé has always released its new films on Friday.]
