Dieser Film ist von einer ganz besonderen Originalität und zeigt uns Hanswurst in einem Spielwarenladen neben seiner Gefährtin, einer bildhübschen Puppe. Diese wird verkauft und Hanswurst setzt sich in Bewegung, um seine Freundin zu befreien, was ihm schliesslich durch die Mithilfe einer gütigen Fee nach unzähligen, meist sehr heiteren Abenteuern gelingt. - Dieses reizende Bild wird gewiss beim Publikum grossen Anklang finden. [Fairy Tale] An even more elaborate subject from the same source is "A Harlequin's Story." The harlequin is an automatic doll in love with a lady figure which resides in the same shop. The lady is bought and carried away, and with the aid of a good fairy "Harlequin" follows, and after various wonderful adventures arrives at the house of the purchaser in time to save her from a death by fire - this circumstance giving a chance for a realistic fire scene which is well utilised. There is also a good scene in which the Harlequin turns the tables on two men who follow him to take him back to the shop. The latter enter a hotel, the doll being hidden in the clock. As the men sit down to the table, a wave of the doll's wand suffices to make the table whisk away and the chairs' to go from underneath them. (Kinematograph and Lantern Weekly, 27.6.1907)
